I modified a standard automotive steering wheel puller to remove my flywheel without pulling the tank. I just re-tapped the center hole to put a shorter/ larger diameter coarse threaded bolt in to push against the crankshaft. Use a flywheel holding tool and you can swap a bendix in 10 minutes or less.

Just need a normal small puller. Kragen will rent it free with a deposit. You dont need an impact, you can put a string or rope in the cylinder on the compression stroke of the pto side. You wont hurt the engine, dont worry.

I wouldnt ever pull a motor for a bendix. Weve swapped em so many times, its literally less than 5 minute job, your first time maybe 15 min.

You can pull the tank and set it off to the side of the ski without unhooking any lines. Is it really that much work to pull the tank, or are ppl just lazy?
