Picked up 5 gallons of 100LL Av gas. Thinking of running it for my winterization mix. Does it break down like pump gas? Should I add stableizer?

One of the requirements of AVGAS is a minimum shelf life of two years. I have antique Suzuki with a three year old tank of mixed pump and avgas that still starts on the first kick every time. For storage there is nothing else like it.

I've never used sta-bil in any of my toys. (non av gas)
Really unnecessary when you will be riding it again in 6 months or whatever.
If you were storing it for a couple years sure.

Pump gas w/10% ethanol is not lasting 6 months. At least 50% of the jobs coming thru my shop are fuel related and it seems to get worse every year. Same story everytime, customer puts their machine away in the fall and it doesn't start in the spring. Carbs are a complete nightmare and the fuel is shot. The best solution so far has been StarTron fuel treatment, but even that only HELPS, not a cure. I'm done with Stabil, it doesn't seem to help at all.

same with my shop. carb cleans and tank flushes. gas goes bad quicker in smaller quantities (especially ethanol gas) so in a small space like the carb bowl (atv's and such) and passageways, it gums up fast. i usually run my stuff out of the carb even if its going to sit a month. phazer (i think) is another good fuel "helper" i would add something along with pump gas and run it through the lines if youre going to let it sit 6 months.

I run Av gas in my hayabusa drag bike and it sits all winter and stays perfect. I think storing in you ski would be a great idea, I probably should also

Fuel injection is a totally different animal. And you're probably running race gas. Never had a problem with fuel systems and ethanol on an FI BIKE

I've actually had a rash of bad injectors on FI PWC this year also. Never seemed to be an issue in the past, but it has become one. Ive had luck running them thru my ultrasonic cleaner with a 12 volt source to open the injector.

Ultrasonic cleaners are the $#!+!!

Ethanol has made me a lot of money over the past couple years, I still wish they would get rid of that crap.

Av gas lasts a long time. The ethanol in fuel breaks down almost instantly. Trick is to have a good fuel system with no air leaks. Air accelerates the process muchfaster. Think of fuel stored in a sealed steel drum.. that :):):):) takes a long time to go bad.. I tend to play it safe and have a emptt fuel system every winter. Then again I tear every nut and bolt down as well.
