Other Does Hydro Turf still sell B stock turf?

I'm wanting to redo the turf on my SJ and was wondering if Hydro Turf still sells B stock turf? I always like it better because of the price. Also how many sheets do I need if I"m going to turf my entire tray, sides, and footholds?

One full sheet is enough to turf your ski. HT only sells B stock when it's on hand. They don't produce a bunch of blem stock on purpose, so it's just a matter of waiting for a bad batch sometimes.

I don't think b stock was really blemished. if so why was it only ever available in gray? They never had a bad run of a different color or cut? I heard it was what was left over when polaris stopped making skis.

So I contacted Hydro Turf today and they no longer sell B stock. They still have the diamond cut foam in sheets. But the price is 59 dollars per sheet and with glue it would be 79 dollars. 20 bucks for the glue? Seems pretty high.

Hydro Turf sure has the market cornered with turfing. I cant imagine that this stuff is anywhere close in manufacturing to what they charge.

I've seen them list some purple b-stock as well. The gray diamond is still in their product line, but they just don't have any blemished stuff to sell. They've run out of gray b before and said "no more b-stock" numerous times in the past, only to get more at a later date. I would assume that sales of first quality products drops anytime b-stock is available.

you can always buy black tip turf for a little less ($56 with glue). Tom21 has used it with great success. They have quite a bit more available than what they show online.

Has Tom used the glue backed stuff from them? I see you can also get non-adhesive upon special request.

I ordered from SBT recently and saw that they sell, definitely ordering turf from them next go around. Shame they don't have underpadding yet though.

On a side note I think all HT sells for the underpad is just Minicel Foam. I have a test order (2lb) coming shortly to confirm is the same stuff/quality.
See here. http://www.foambymail.com/minicel-foam.html

If it's the same it's much cheaper and free shipping on orders > $75.

Hate to say it but HT's biz model has just about pushed themselves out of the market.

Sjkny, once you get the foam can you please reply back or PM me with your thoughts. If this is the same or better I will defiantly get some. I'm going to see how much the Blacktip sheets are without the adhesive backing. The black tip also comes in a bigger sheet than HT. 39"x78"

If I remember correctly, Polaris wanted Gray. Then when production came, they either said "No, we wanted black or they said that the quality was not good enough and lets change it to black" and then they went belly up on production.

Yes I have bought the Weldwood several times. That is why I posted the price above from HT. 20 bucks for a can of Weldwood from HT is nuts! I'm going to try the Black Tip turf when its time.

They used to throw in the glue and brushes for free if you asked nicely. I never paid for either on all the skis I did, whether I bought sheet stock or kits.
