Does thrust ez pull trim ring work on both 144 and 155

bought a surf ski that has no trim and a 144 mag. I’ve got a 155 ez pull system laying around. If I get a 144 trim reduction nozzle, can I use the ez pull system or is it a different trim ring? Any idea what ski that would have come on for ebaying purposes?

Thanks!

You would need a 62t reduction nozzle and a 65v steering nozzle. Waveraider I believe. Also a different set of bushings. I think the trim ring is the same. I'm going the opposite direction if you want to swap anything out.

I have a thrust trim ring that I've used on both 144 and 155 reduction nozzles, I got it as just the ring and made my own spacers to make it fit whatever nozzle I was using, so I'm not sure which it was originally intended for. I'm pretty sure you could do the same.

I can confirm that the standard 155 trim ring is bigger than the standard 144 trim ring, but the 144mm 65v nozzle is the oddball that uses the larger 155 sized trim ring on a 144 reduction nozzle, and the steering nozzle is an oddball to accommodate that (fits the bigger trim ring but has the smaller bore size of the 144 nozzle). They were used on gp800's (not GPR800's) and I think some gp760's but I'm not 100% sure about the 760's. It's the bowl shaped one with a little bit of up angle. If you like the up angle you can probably just use that reduction nozzle but you probably want straight back for a surf ski.

Put a 155 shoe in my chan. Going to see for myself if an oem 155 is better than a skat mag setback 144 with 65v reduction nozzle. I've ridden several oem 155 skis and I'm not convinced yet.
only ones I have ridden that felt really really good was in Edges. Rode 3 and they were all solid. 2 were limited setups and other was ported with 735. Oh, and Robbie's Edges. They both had 155's I believe. But one had an XS 900SS in it.

This wasn’t a back to back test but I like the oem 155 in my havoc behind a JM781 better then the 144 mag it came with.

We shall see. I have put a ton of time into tuning my 144. The gp800 nozzle made a huge difference. The extra volume allows the motor to spool up a little more before the hit. I wish it didn't have the up angle to it though. It changes the way the hull rides. Pushes the rear down and a chan already has too much grip. Hopefully I can find some gains with the 155.
