Super Jet Dome ding

Got some domes in the mail, one was very slightly damaged in the mailing process. What can/should i do? Its high enough to catch a fingernail on. I'm tempted to slice it clean with a razor blade. I doubt this will have little to no effect if i did anything, i'm just playing safe with expensive parts.

Another thing i just noticed with these domes, is my new domes do not have a groove around the outer lip. These are Riva domes btw. Can anyone add some input to this? I circled the outer ring i'm talking about in red. dome ring.jpgdome ring 2.jpg

lol HOLY CRAP DUDE!! what compression are you running?
not sure on the the extra lip versus the non lip. what head is it that you have? is it older? I will have to look at my extra head and spare domes to see whats in em.
for the ding I would say any bump needs to be flattened. the oring is gonna be pressed down and only held by the void you created by slicing it off. but if it was mine I would have to say I would be tapping very gently and try to knock it back down.
ps drunk typing here, use a grain of salt...

I would file that nick down and use it in a heartbeat. Not sure about that missing lip though. Does the o-ring fit properly? Not sure how the o-ring is supposed to work on that new design.

It looks like those domes were made for big bore sleeves, possibly. That would at least explain why the o-rings would sit so close to the outer edge of the dome.

This if for a complete RIVA flattop big bore motor ( as far as i know ). Around 200psi with these domes. Riva pistons, big bore sleeves, head/domes. The o-ring fits the same in both sets of domes, which to me seems perfectly fine. Besides the ding. Is it possible the outer ring, or lack there of, on the domes could affect the squish? The ring on the old set would give a little more clearance between piston and dome. My thinking is the new set has no ring, so the inside dome surface would sit on the sleeve, lowering the squish distance- would this make any sense?
