Donor ski for vin and paperwork on A/M hull question

I've got a old superjet square that has been stripped down. The ski I'm looking at buying is a RTR watercraft hull that has never been titled. My question is , can I use the vin and paperwork from the square for the watercraft factory hull to register it? I'm planning on jumping the old square hull so it won't be sold to someone without a title. Anybody ever do this? The title would be free and clear in my name as well.

It is something that CAN be done but it is NOT LEGAL. The true legal was is to take it into the DMV and they will assign you a title. Either new boat regestration, special construction, or title it the AM name if you can get paperwork and a hull id number from the company. For example, I have seen a few Hurricane hulls have been registered as a Hurricane where as my ski I just did special construction and the pink slip will say 0000 as the year, SPCN for the make/model, and they will give you a HIN and CF#s. So you have a few choices, but yes you can change over the SJ title. Its just not something you want to get caught doing and the forum does not allow/condone.

Ok what if you don't have a build sheet for the ski, can you still go through the DMV ? I want to do this the legal way if possiable.

I did like mike said above and registered my Vision hull as a home built. Basically it involved a bill if sale for the bare hull, registration and title for my donor ski which is where my non hull related parts came from. The engine from the donor ski was already emissions legal, pre 2014, so that engine satisfied the emissions law requirement. I filled out the home built paper work and paid sales tax on the hull to dmv since I didn't pay it in Florida. The gal had to get help from a co worker since they don't do this every day. I did have to remind them my donor engine from my donor ski was already emissions certified when built new so no new emissions certification required. They issued HIN and CF numbers and gave me my registration. Paperwork shows builder as Watercraft factory and ski is registered as 2013 Watercraft Factory Vision

You might check your local dmv for the correct paper work and process in your state
