I agree w/Koko. If the solenoid is mounted rigidly, the valve can be shaken open(or break). I always mount mine as close to the sprayer as possible. The solenoid is only open for a fraction of a second so any delay in water delivery makes the ECWI less effective. You may also want to tap the sprayer for Mikuni main jets so you can reduce the amount of water injected. Somewhere in the range of 80-120 should be a good starting point. Make sure to use a filter of some kind before the sprayer. Here's where I put mine. Also make sure to run the water in the "in" side of the solenoid. Been running them for years this way w/no issues. For future reference, Jetworks, Riva, and Atlantic Jet Sports also stock the solenoids in the $59 price range.
I don't think I need to modify the sprayer, mine has adjustable pulse width so you can vary the amount of water being sprayed via a laptop, as well as on/off rpm and such. I also ordered a strainer/ filter to go inline to keep sand out. No idea where I'm mounting the solinoid yet, somewhat reluctant to mount it low in the hull where its swimming all the time.

That has nothing to do with the size of the orifice through which the water is sprayed. A small difference in orifice size can make a big difference. The jets allow you to adjust the amount of water sprayed while the solenoid is open. Your adjustment only controls when it's open. Not how much is sprayed. Make sense?:scratchchin:

Makes perfect sense to me, but if the pulse width is very short don't you really get the same difference? I can see where the smaller jet size would atomize the spray finer and restrict the flow, but if that tiny hole clogs I'm screwed. Not pulling the engine every time that happens. One thing I don't know yet is how fine the screen is on the filter I ordered.

Crammit, your work looks beautiful on that b-pipe. But my drypipe would put it down in the water too often, that's probably why the other one failed.

I agree the tube from the solinoid to the stinger should be short as posible and the restrictor in between this path, but i'm putting the filter before the solinoid this time. I come real close to shore many times like i shouldn't. And i always ride in salt.

The filter will take care of that. The best filter to use is the one that FPP uses. It's a self cleaning ECWI filter. You will not get clogs with it. You can see the little pancake shaped filter in my pic. Never had any troubles using those either.

Done.

So ,i tapped the stinger and put the restricter there. The solenoid is not bolted to the engine. The filter is before the solinoid. Let's see what she does tomorrow.:bigok:

Much improved. It comes on gradualy and not like a light switch like it used to. I went leaner with the screws. Both low and high. Too choppy to get any kind of high speed but it has a monster midrange now.

As Florida good ol' boys would say, she runs like a scalded dog. I'll ride one more time before Daytona. She's ugly to some but it's coming along. Next is a pole setup and a diffrent pump or something.
