In my short racing career (lol) I've went against several fast 61x motors. Definitely not to be underestimated.
A lot of guys scoff at larger carbs on a small motor for whatever reason. Moto 3 of my race in lake Hartwell this year j. Carroll (pro rider much younger than me) was on my tail the whole race and he should have easily passed me. Every time I looked back he was right there on his red pro tec square nose and I'd put the hammer down a little more. My motor isn't any faster than a 61x but it has a lot of mid range power. 30% throttle, pipe hits. Definitely agree that larger carbs can make the pipe hit a tad earlier because I was able to use that mid range acceleration to stay ahead of him. Ended up winning that Moto.
