Super Jet Dual carb tuning

Let's go back 2 years ago when my dual carb 701 ran well. Mods are B pipe (limited), 93 octane girdled head, blowsion flame arrestors, 9/15 hooker, dual cooled. Jetting was 130 Main and 75 pilot 95g spring. I never checked the needle and seat or pop off. It ran great until it didn't.

Carbs are sbn38s with the t screws added.

I then bought complete mikuni rebuild kits and went through the carbs thoroughly. Rebuild and test on her again. Bogging low and high. Mid range is ok. Adjusting the low end I was able to get it close but the high side was garbage. I even went up a main and down a main size with the same result. I chased this with this for almost a year with different jet combos.

Fast forward to this year. My buddy has a similar build SJ so we swap carbs. Mine came back to life with his which has the same jetting. I buy the revised version of the sbn38s with the t screws already installed. I have a 1.5 N&S 65g spring 135M 75P. 28 psi pop off.
Played with 1 size up and down on the main and pilot and still have issues at mid to high end (plugs are reading perfect to slightly rich).
I installed a linkage kit today because I noticed as one butterfly opens, there was some lash causing a slight delay before the other side would open and I was hoping that was it as the linkage kit made a solid synced connection.

Anyone have any other ideas??

If your carbs worked fine in the other ski, in my opinion your problem likely lies elsewhere. I cannot see how carbs can just come back to life like that.
I would try replacing all your fuel lines, and pulse line. First I would try running without the inline fuel filter. Did you look at your reeds when you swapped the carbs? Good luck

My carbs never went in the other ski, his went on mine and worked great. I did however replace all the fuel lines as well.

If the carbs are out of sync it will not run properly regardless what you do. Are you running stock flame arrestors? That popoff seems low with stock arrestor. I removed 2 screens and ran a 95g spring with that jetting
