Hi,

I hear everyone rave about dual cooling. I would like to have it. Was wondering if maybe i already have it. I bought a used waveblaster that was already modified.

I have a "factory pipe", but doesn't seem to have cooling???

How can i check to see if it has dual cooling?

I live in Florida and don't need it(with a Fatory pipe)your water can't nearly be as warm lol. it's over rated Unless your racing it and have some crazy mods on the motor

being in canada you probably dont need it. i have it and had to restrict the lines down to get everything hot. plus it lowers the pressure in your cooling circuit so adjusting the screws on your pipe will be less noticeable. when i bumped the pressure up in my pipe tuning was much more noticeable.

Oh ok, thanks guys. Was just a little worried yesterday, because i went out for a good 45 minutes of annoying yachters by jumping in their 4 foot high wakes, and when i would stick my foot in the cooling stream it was very very hot. I just got this spark plug temp sensor in the mail, but am not sure how hot the motor should even be running. I'll install it and then record temps while running it. I know i've asked it before, but does anyone know the ideal running temp for this motor?

i asked jetworks about running temps awhile back and he said you dont need to be any hotter than 180. the hottest i have even seen mine is 178 but i only checked it a few times and that was after a long wide open run, which i dont do often.

180 would feel very very hot on your foot, all is well. To see if you have dual cooling look on the bulkhead, do you have 2 waterlines running to the engine? keep in mind there will be a bilge line too.

Ok thanks, I'll give it a go soon and make sure temps are under 180.

I don't think i have dual cooling if i was looking at the right spot. Oh well, i dont have any serious mods. Just a pipe, and then some minor things.

Should i get an aluminum waterbox seeing as i have a modified pipe? Heard about them exploding.

I race my Blaster and have it fully spec out ,, not doing dual cooling and never had issues but that water can be hot.. I use two pissers though because of protech head. To my understanding Dual coming in is great but the more water you spit out can help keep things cool as well since your dumping the heat out with the water =)

I also have two pissers, but one is plugged. I might put a split in and use both.. I need to pick up some 45 degree ones so that the water stream doesn't hit the rails.

if your splitting one line to two just leave it one line. I have one line from the stinger and one line from head . That is because both are aftermarket. Not sure it is smart to do on a stock head , never done it before . Just wanted to say that .

single cooling here, water temp 95 degree's haven't had any problems. Do a bunch of WFO runs and its on its second season. Next year i will install dual cooling just because.

Thanks, no need for dual cooling here i guess. Water is usually reasonably cool. It will probably run great in the spring and fall when water temps are 5-10C. I would run it until the ice was in if i didn't have to winterize the thing. It would be pretty cool to go out on that first morning of ice (about 2mm thick) and do some speed runs.
