I'm trying to tap my 650sx pump for dual cooling. I bought a new pump because my sleeve got warped and the new pump doesn't have the extra bump to tap for a new fitting. so i was just going to do a half inch fitting. but then i would need to split it before it enters to hull and im running water strainers so i'd have to get another strainer and a bunch more fitting to connect everything.
Do you think i can make a mound out of jb weld on the side of the pump and then tap the jb weld. or even jb weld the fitting onto the pump. aside from sanding down the side of the pump with some a low grit paper, what other prep work would help the jb weld adhere.
