SXR dual cooling problem

hey guys im having a problem with dual cooling on my sxr. i have drilled and tapped the opposite side but I'm having a problem with clearance between the pump and the steering cable, the cable starts to hit when the bars are only half way turned? anyone have this problem and or fix it?

I had the same prob. on my SXR, I raised the ball on the steering nozzle 1/2" with a 6mm stud and threaded aluminum bushing.

i dont have that ball cuz i have the heavy duty steering cable. but you guys have given me an idea. im going to try to put it on the bottom side of the nozzle
