Obviously that would be a PITA to work on, but when I had the idea of creating this thread, I was picturing something similar to B Pipe manifold and headpipe, then just two B pipes stacked on top of each other merging into a waterbox with two inlets. In that situation, the pipes wouldn't take up much more space than a single does.

It sure would be nice it was that easy!
Unfortunately there is way more to it!

@DAG you hear this?

"Have you seen the pro's? They buy the same parts we do but can actually tweek and tune." - You haven't followed many forms of racing, my friend.
Everything has been tried in the past when there was a lot more money flowing into the sport. The 1995 WF winner had custom twin pipes in his 750sx. The current freestyle boats can barely house a single pipe, and most importantly, riders aren't asking for twin pipes. For a freeride standup, I would rather not have a pipe at all since the power surge makes it more difficult to control. Racing has gone foutstroke so theres little demand for the ultimate tuned pipe.

You can run dual fmf pipes too! Guy that posted the photo's says the ski runs well like this.

This is kinda what I was looking for, just some history behind it and if anybody had tried it before. I rely on you guys for this history, I was only 1 in 1995. Lots of cool responses here.

Where is your 2nd head pipe?

Both head pipes would need to be smaller diameter than current b pipe. Rear cylinder head pipe would be similar to the current setup, but there is a few inches room to be further towards the tray. Front cylinder head pipe would be a similar shape and run alongside, but in front of the rear headpipe. Front cylinder chamber would be the upper one, distanced the same from the piston as the rear, so slightly more towards the nose of the ski. I’ve obviously never put anything together and it’s more complicated than I’m making it seem.. but it’s just the idea I had in mind.

I have been there and done that. I know what your thinking and I couldn't be convinced by anyone that twins on a stand up were not ideal. I had just had to build my own. I did this about the same time the TBM's came out - winter 04'. Mine were made using some stampings that were made for the GP1200R for Rius. I also made mine dry...waterjacketed. (More work, more welding, more time, and more weight!) Lots of time, did I type lots of time? tons of time. Looking back it was something I'm glad I did. Just like painting a car...did it once, never again. The twins worked....I broke lots of parts from vibrations. I also owned at least 3 sets of TBM's. TBM's fit better and worked good. However it was hard to beat the overall performance of the FPP single pipe. Twins definitely spun higher and carried the ski to higher speeds. I tried twins with stock, limited, and stroke mod setups. All cases nothing produced the top speed of the twins...... but no twin setup matched the snap of the single pipe for racing around bouys

Twins weighed 45-47lbs dry. Mine and TBM's

Yes, pretty cool ski. From the factory with factory pipes and a Skat Magnum pump among other goodies. They only made 500 and you had to have an IJSBA card to purchase one and as Kahuna said no warranty. 951cc with 160HP and the engine had a very short life span, I think it was something like 25-50 hours on rebuild intervals. It was a race ski.
