The blaster hull I bought a little while back had them, but I haven't had the chance to try them yet because I don't have an engine in the ski yet.

I have heard they leak a lot.

The ones I have are from Riva. I'm pretty sure Riva still sells them.

they dont leak bad when they are new but they dont drain well either.the major downfall that noticed is that if you get any fuel in the bilge they will swell up and deform causing them to leak like crazy.also when they get old they will crack and leak like crazy.

I had them on my B1 for 3 years now and never had a problem with them. But I have not ridden it in about a year so i don't know what shape they are in. if I let it float for an hour or so it will fill up with water however if you beach the ski you wont have any issues.

I don't think mine leaked much at all. More "leak proof" than any scupper. I think they are a good alternative to solid drain plugs. As mentioned, they don't drain like a scupper. Atlantis makes them. I would recomend them though.

I have them on mine , they work great on flat water and and are not a problem letting anything in ''even in the surf'' if you keep good rubber on them, i feel they really get out that last bit of water that sloshes around . However they dont do anything in the surf where you have to dump a large volume of water FAST ! Pumps are great !!

dan, i dont know about making a build thread. i didnt do anything to the ski except for install a pump, engine and electrics made up of parts i aquired. i can takes some pics and give some specs i s'pose. i did modify the stock steering and nozzle for further throw and a couple other little things here and there, but the outside of the ski is a faded 93 blaster with some graphics half missing. okay ill make a thread.

:haha:

now, back to the duckies.... are they less likely to get deformed if regularly treated w/ silicone spray or dubyaD? how much are they? i couldnt find them on rivas site or in the catalog. i guess i could just drive by there today.

I think they leak pretty fast when floating and mine are pretty new. I recently rotated them from vertical to horizontal, so I don't know if that helped.

I think a worn out duckbill contributed to my ski sinking two weekends ago when my GF towed the ski from our campsite back to the boat ramp. When I met her at the ramp all I could see was the back foot and a half of the ski sticking up out of the water. The bilge was running, but couldn't keep up. So this last weekend I installed two Atwood 500's one in the front one in the back of the engine. I ordered a new duckbill also.
