Dusting off the neglected square nose

Naturally I didn't start this last fall and sort of scrambling now to get parts and get them installed before it's time to ride. I started my own business last year and completely lost the summer of 2016.

With a full time employee, work scheduled months out and also still in the middle of a whole house remodel I haven't much time to dedicate to hobbies.

So far I bought an AC -2 pole, blowsion steering system with 4* bars, carb rebuild kit, various jets and springs, flame arrestor, dual cooling kit and a b pipe. Went for the mod pipe since I read it has more power on top. Kinda wish the website said it was on backorder so I'll be waiting an alleged 2.5 weeks for blowsion to receive a shipment from fp.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting back into riding this season. De foam will have to wait til winter since I'd like to take my time there.

No pictures yet just a pile of packages on and around the ski.

I know it's been beat to death on here, but would the smart money buy an aftermarket water box to bring out the performance of the pipe?

Save your money and run the stock waterbox. Other then noise and depending on the box a weight savings of a few pounds you are not going to notice much. Better off spending your time adjusting the bpipe water screws and pipe temp. For the carb start with 127.5 Low jet 150 H jet and 24psi pop off.

Glad to see you getting back on the water Patrick. The upgrades are going to be a nice difference. AM water boxes are generally just louder maybe, maybe a slight improvement but I think it's more of a placebo effect. Loud = HP right?

10/4, That jetting good for a stock 61x with a 44mm?

Just got a box of goodies from blowsion and my new -2 AC pole. Have everything I ordered except for the B pipe.

Getting antsy, I want to get me a jetmaniac water box and a blue girdled ada head. I don't really want to have to find race gas around here but I will if it's worth it to get small domes. Currently has a stock milled head and I don't want to crack the jug. Compression is 150/150 right now but not sure of the accuracy on the compression tester, it was $50 at NAPA which equates to 20 bucks at China freight.

150 is a good reading for a stock cyl and head. Are you sure it's a got a milled head?

The stock cdi isn't really adequate to fire race gas compression. Definitely need msd enhancer or total loss.

Fine I'll get the jm ada girdle head with the lower comp domes and the water box.

As far as jetting, I bought the assortment of jets and springs but only up to a 147.5 on the main, probably should order a 150 main

I have to say, I blew out my stock box with a B-pipe in my old squarenose, then bought a baffled TDR and never went back....

Say what you will, but I noticed a change in throttle response/hit.

Feels like the pole is too short standing on it in the garage like a 9 year old. Hope I like it better in the water, always felt like the bars were in my gut.

If you are over 5'11 you may want to cut your pole down some more.
I'm 6'2 and 240, just feels like I'm leaned over too far but might be just right in the water. I just rec ride and don't like having to stand on the back of the tray when in cruise.
