Dusting off the neglected square nose

Probably should've bought another square nose with a head and pipe for what I've spent so far.

Anyway as planned I pulled cylinder to replace base gasket and fix the threads I pulled the other day. Ports look like they line up awful. Wondering if at this point if I hadn't ought to just do a top end.

Old bilge pump hole directly in the way of the b pipe chamber. Perfect spot for a pisser though. Took some quarter inch aluminum I had laying around and made a decent ghetto solution.

I don't think Blowsion will hire me but good enough for this old square after sanding the edge.

Mother of God that thing is fast! Pole and steering is perfect.

Only thing is at wot starts losing power after about 5 seconds don't know if it's loading up or about to seize.

147.5 high speed in a stock 44? FP recommends starting with a 150 I think. I run a 147.5 with a protec pipe which doesn't make the power a b pipe does.

135 stock, 145 for factory pipe per their paperwork. Kinda vague instructions, they don't specify single 44 or dual 38s...

There are two sets of instructions for superjet factory pipes. One is for 94-95 SJ (single carb) and the other set is 96+ SJ (dual carbs). Check their website or do a google search for superjet factory pipe instructions.

Ten-four, I ordered for my year and went by it's spec sheet. That explains why I thought it was vague.

Make sure pop off is around 24psi.
Should be with the 95 gram spring. No issue at all with initial throttle squeeze, power just starts to fall off after a few seconds full throttle.

Couldn't be flirting with the Rev limiter with a 14/18 pitch impeller, could I?

The first thing I would do is pressure test your carb. It should hold 10 psi for 10 minutes (just like pressure testing a motor) between the needle and seat and fuel inlet. The SBN pump bodies can be notoriously leaky and cause issues. I melted a piston on my square in this manner. Ski ran beautifully, but after about 4-5 seconds of full throttle it would slow. The third or fourth time I noticed it, it was too late and RPMs started dropping and then the motor died. Turns out one of the rectangular plates on my carb was leaking badly and starved (or hindered) fuel flow to that cylinder.

This may not be your issue, but either way I am religious about having completely leak free carbs now.

EDIT: To clarify, your carb settings sound pretty close to good, hence why I emphasized the pressure test.

Ordered a pop off gauge and more jets and whatnot. Thanks to jetmaniac I haven't had to leave the house for much for this project. Might be a silly carb question and too lazy for the search feature, should a freshly rebuilt carb be weeping from the weep hole? Wouldn't call it a leak, just enough to make it a weep

Not a weep hole. It's a atmospheric pressure hole. Fuel is leaking by the large black diaphragm somehow and is going drive you nuts tuning
