Nice build
Any progress

Had a lot of plan changes, my company hit a major fork in the road. So I've been working damn near around the clock to adapt to the changes .. however, i spent the entire weekend in the shop, and i now have 2 hulls ready for paint.( photos asap)
But as for the square nose... she's on the back burner. I decided, after seeing how well the body lines turned out, to make it into a plug and pull a mold from it. So this winters project will be a carbon fiber version.
There's always too much to do and never enough time.

Im new to this but i want to try cutting down my SN what are you using to cut open the tray? when you open the tray and remove all that float foam what are you replacing it with? Just that pink foam? and is that what you rebuild your sides with then glassed it all?

Tools used to hack:
*sawsall ( fast but tough to keep straight clean lines)
*angle grinder with 4in abrasive wheel.(dusty but straight clean lines)
Foam: any foam that is closed cell. The 2 part foams, pourables styrofoams, all seem to take on water. The pink or blue foam board from the hardware is water resistant. Easy to shape and sand and its sturdy.
I used the pink foam to fill the tray and to shape the gunwales. Then i just glassed it all back in. Ill take photos tonight.

Thanks for the compliment!
There are PLENTY of other threads i would look into before doing nose rocker. There are easier ways than cutting all off like i did.. the only reason for cutting it up so bad was to change the Square nose shape. If i were to rocker a RN i would done something like what Garret did

In your earlier posts you mentioned you cut it and defoamed it in a few hours?
How did you defoam it so quickly? I have a defoaming project to take on soon and I haven't started because of how much work everyone says it is.

Defoam is super easy and quick if you're doing it right.
Take a sawsall and cut checkerboards about 1-2 inch squares. Then rip it out with a claw end of a hammer or the like.the only real time spent will be around pump inlet and threw tubes, be careful not to dmg anything.

Im working on it! I've been extremely busy! And honestly when I look at the mountains of work I have, the thought of taking pictures doesn't even cross my mind anymore. But I'll get some photos up today with some proper explanation for anybody who's working on similar things in the future.

I used hexcel 7500 fiberglass and west system epoxy.
Glassed in the tray.
Glassed the gunwales and foot holds first with 3 layers of 9.8oz. Let cure 24hrs
Epoxied gunwales in place. Clamped and Let cure 24hrs
Mixed some 407 into the resin and filled all the gaps and rounded all the corners
Mixed some 406 into some resin to hold the tight corners and contours.
Glassed them in place with one layer of 9.8oz , currently curing
Tomorrow 2 more layers them clean up then paint.
Ill weigh it once its painted.

Tray looks good!! Let me know if you run short on any materials. Since Craig is bailing on his 300 build he has a bunch of leftover stuff from uscomposites that he could hook you up with for cheap.
