E85 fuel

Anyone tested to run with this fuel? Don't know if it's called this outside of europe but here it is called e85. It has 70-85%ethanol and rest if gasoline.

Does rubber parts in carburetor melt or go bad and how about oil does any brand mix good enough?

Any thoughs?

Had a buddy who ran e85, it ran for a while but it ate through a few components in his carb. Cant remember what exactly tho. On the plus side it was a monster for a 701.

Ethanol isn't good for marine use. You would have to switch to a fuel Injected system, they don't make e85 safe carb kits.

I've seen a few people run e85 with good performance, but they had to tune for much higher fuel consumption, and give the fuel system a healthy shot of stabilized regular gas after each ride to prolong the life of rubber carb parts. Not a great plan, IMO.

A lot of turbo guys run it on the street vs race gas. It let the AKA pump gas 1000whp live on the street. They use about 30% more fuel.
