I believe most sleds run EGT sensors to infer lambda (air fuel ratio) rather than an actual UEGO it looks to use in this kit. Love the idea but a UEGO likely wont live with oil, might be best to re-release the kit with an EGT.
In my (rather limited) testing on marine 4 strokes it is hard to keep an o2 sensor alive unless you run WOT and then shut it down and pull the sensor. Even letting it sit and restarting causes loads of water vapor to form in the exhaust which kills the sensor when the heater kicks back on.

I don't doubt it could be improved by playing with the position etc but as is, my recommendation would be to find a sensor with a "lifetime replacement warranty" from the parts store because you are going to need it if you leave it in and go ride.

You wouldn't use an O2 sensor in this application. A thermocouple may not provide much feedback without a lot of full throttle use. It would most likely use a fixed map with temp and possibly a barometer for atmospheric adjustment. .Dont get too excited about EFI on our type of skis. It adds weight, complexity, and at best works marginally better than carbs. The outboard guys have made it work for them but they have hefty charging systems and car batteries to run everything. Plus they have to keep six cylinders happy at the edge of meltdown.

I don't really want efi, I just want carbs that are convenient to adjust. Can you imagine having a set of carbs that somehow mounted the jets on top, like as easy to get at as a spark plug, and put the screws with a nice big knob with graduations so you can just grab it and turn it 1/8 turn without cramming your hand into a tight place with sharp edges? Even better a flex connector and a knob that you can reach while riding, don't even stop.

Hell, even just put the damn bolts that hold the carb on so that they're in an easy to get to place and I'll unbolt the damn things. The SBN-I bodies kinda do that at least, but I've never used them for anything. Current status quo is basically designed to maximize the possibility of dropping a non-magnetic bolt into oblivion never to be found again until it is stuck in your scupper.

Mount some lectrons on your ski.

Specs:
  • Metering rod design eliminates traditional jets
  • Jetless design auto-adjusts to wide variety of conditions
  • Minimal impact from elevation, humidity, and temperature change
  • Direct fitment in place of stock carb
  • Tapered bore
  • May help improve fuel economy
  • Smoother power delivery than stock
  • Increased performance
  • Clear float bowl for easy monitoring

Someone needs to make some Lectron Carbs for the skis!.

I've personally used them on multiple different dirt bikes and they were always awesome. They all always felt super well jetted and never running lean.
Its a metering rod style carb or something like that.

A simple EFI setup like on a moden 4-stroke dirt bike would be plenty. Most dont use 02 sensors at all and if they have one its just for emissions..

But it relies on the TPS sensor, IAT, MAP, ECT, & Fuel pressure sensor for safety plus an EGT would be nice as well for a safety.
That can all be done with a very small compact waterproof ECU.

You still need the throttle bodies and fuel rail/injector setup and a fuel pump in the gas tank. A FPR and a good feed & return line to the gas tank.

Hit up lectron and see if they will help you set some up for your ski.

I wish! Im sure it would be expensive to have them make the first set for me. Plus my ski is stock with some bolt-on's and a pipe. So nothing really special on my SJ. Plus its apart right now for some work im doing to it and have been busy.

I just wish there was at least an option from them available. I know the jet-ski carbs are different because they can't have a conventional float because of not being able to have an open overflow line into the Hull.
