ELECTRIC IS HERE!

136hp 500 lbs vs SXR1500 550lbs 160hp, I bet it'll be pretty quick at least. Maybe not super fun but this is cool nonetheless! It only takes more time to get the energy density of the batteries up, we'll get there. Someday I hope.

To be honest I thought it looked kinda cool. Definitely more "race" than "freestlye" but it's 500 lbs so that makes sense.

Isn't Belassi an oem manufacturer of watercraft? Kinda botique, but if so they'd be more interested in selling a watercraft than selling some powertrain kit I would think. The cost will probably be very high.
Hydrospace (Benelli) was taken over by Belassi some years ago....... Stopped keeping up with them a long time ago..............

or you can always carry a portable generator with you !
Yes You could….my comment was more a joke, but interestingly, The plug in electric hybrids I work on have a range of 25 miles on all electric….small battery…

A level 1 (120volt) charger takes more than 14 hours to charge that small battery…

Level 2 (220volt) charges much faster, I’ve not timed it but maybe 3 hours ish… guessing here, but it’s a small battery..

Level 2 (220 volt) charger takes much longer to charge an all electric car that has a range of 120 miles.. like 7 or 8 hours..

I did just buy a 220 volt generator, it weighs 265 pounds without fuel..

Not sure what a fast chargers designation is.. the one we have to install at work cost $150k

Tesla fast charger, sorry (forgot the range on the particular model car, 260 miles) can get you to 80% in 2 hours or less.. and it’s huge battery… quoting just from memory, not gonna look anything up here…

innovation is good, here in comi California they outlawed small gas engines, lawnmower, weed eaters, leaf blowers… forced to buy electric..

I prefer the option to buy electric better… you prefer electric, perfect you buy electric, someone else prefers gas powered, fine you buy gas powered….

Edit: didn’t that last electric jet ski take 8 hours to charge ?

I'm a mechanic. I welcome electric everything. So much simpler. Such less maintenance. The more things we make commonly electric. The cheaper gas will become.

I think tesla are the coolest car out. Can't wait for a oem to perfect the electric midsized truck.

Tesla plaid is among the fastest cars you can buy for any price, you're calling that boring?
Yes.
I drive exotic cars for a living working at a used car dealership. I've driven most Ferraris, newer Lambo's, Mclarens, Porsches etc.
I've also daily ridden either a 9 or 10 second 1/4 mile sportbike for the last 18yrs.
The tesla has no visceral appeal what so ever. You feel the G of accelerating. That's it. No vibration. No tire slippage. No traction control. No sound. NOTHING.
All out speed is kinda meaningless to me at this point. Its the overall appeal of a car that matters, and Tesla ain't got it. Neither does the Porsche Taycan. Haven't driven a lucid or rivian yet.

Here's my take on the electrification of jetskis, cars, and motorcycles... The performance of these e powered vehicles is flat out amazing! No question. My friend's Tesla plaid is mindblowing. But, it has no soul. No pedigree. There is no visceral sound, vibration, and smell. Part of my fascination of working with internal combustion motors, especially 2 strokes, is the challenge and science of tuning any given package. You have to be part alchemist, voodoo doctor, and mad scientist to get the combination of pieces to perform at a high level. It's elusive. But, that challenge is so gratifying when you get it right. So, get one piece of the puzzle wrong... and your $40K flippy boat is a turd. What are "tuners" of the future going to posess as far as tuning skills go? Will they be nerdy pocket protector electrical engineers from MIT, that have never had a whiff of Klotz bean oil?

Can you imagine going to Supercross...and the whole field is on E motos? World finals and Pro ski is all Electric?

I just don't think I can get a boner from working with electrical vehicles, like I do with an angry big bore 2 stroke.

And, don't even get me started about E-Bicycles.

The irony is that there are plenty of kids and average joe guys playing with electronics and hacking, while that Aprilia was the creation of guys that are much closer to the pocket protector engineer types.

I guess that’s why people take mufflers off their vehicles. Gotta spice up the experience. It wouldn’t be difficult to make a Tesla sound and feel like anything you want. You could go from a dump truck to a Cadillac or to any race car that could be programmed into the cars computer. In the 90s i played a Reno air race tape in a friends 10000watt car stereo. It was better than being there.

Not really. People who take their mufflers off of their cars, or motorcycles, don't have a clue what they're doing as far as performance gains. Same thing goes for people who take their water boxes off of their skis. All it accomplishes is annoying people. People who program muscle car sounds in their e cars so that they can identify as a V8 is retarded.
Point missed, Kevbro.

The fad of needing a sound and a smell to go along with performance, will go the way of the dinosaur. With the dinosaurs.

Numbers matter. And for now. Gas beats electric. That cell phone in your pocket is telling me that's gonna change soon.
