SXR Electrical box question?

I know that this has been discussed in the past, but i just wanted to get some clarification. I have a 03 sxr engine with the matching 03 stator and flywheel. My question is, what e-box will work with it? From what I have read, any one will work because I can use a back dated stator with a newer style e-box. Is this correct?

Yes, that correct but you only connect the blue/green wires off stator pick up tigger and the brown/black/brown wires.

Ok cool, thats what i thought. What exactly is different between the 03 box and the 04 and newer box?

One is digital and one is analog if I remember correctly

I switched from 03 to 08, but switched stators too....The 08 was used as a training aid in a school and was never run on water. So I basically got some brand new electronics a couple years ago. I am also using a SS switch from a STX1200. (up and down one)
