My ski clicks when I try to start it... sometimes she starts and runs perfect... other times... click click click...

I replaced the ground wire... no luck... took apart ebox... all looks great... try to start... click click click... battery has full juice...

I have heard either the relay or starter...

You guys ever have these same symptoms and if so what was the issue... ???

Like mentioned.... if it starts.... runs perfect.... otherwise.... click click click... !!!

No other strange noises.... rattles.... etc.... Runs like a top if fires... but... now all I get is click click click... I hate eboxes... !!!

Could it be my starter is stuck... ???

I tried jumping the relay.... silence... !!!

Start stop switch is new as well... might just buy relay plus starter and wrap it up... I hate working on skis and BOT engine compartments are sweet... easy to work in... but... like all engine compartments... tight... I just wanna ride... FTS !!!

A few minutes with a meter/test light will get you an answer. Test for power at the power-in (wire from the battery) terminal on the relay, push the button and test the power-out terminal (wire to the starter) then test the terminal on the starter. If you have power on both ends of the relay (with button pressed, and it sounds like you do since jumping the relay did nothing) it is good. If you have power to the starter terminal with the button pressed then your wires are (likely) good and the starter could be the culprit.

The clicking is the relay engaging but the starter not engaging. It rules out any problems with your switch. The cause is either low voltage or a failing starter. Low voltage can be caused by bad wires, bad battery or failing relay. The wires are unlikely the cause if they are free of fraying or corrosion. A likely culprit is the starter getting stuck. The housing swells over time and grabs onto the internals, especially on salt water boats. I would veryify the cables are all in good condition, then take a closer look at the starter. You might need to remove it. You can do this on the boat, but I would not remove the starter w/o taking off the flywheel cover, as the washer that holds the bendix can get lose.

Based on the clicking it sounds like the solenoid is good, meaning start/stop switch is good too. Most likely it's the
-starter
-bad connection between solenoid and starter (positive wire)
-bad connection with ground wire to starter
-positive or negative wire could be bad and have poor continuity through it. I've had this happen where the wire was bad internally.

A volt meter will really help you trouble shoot this one. Clean all terminals. You can try jumping straight from battery to the starter to see if its the starter. Obviously pull the starter out to do this or pull spark plugs out so it doesn't fire up on you.

Checked relay with multi-meter... both posts read .2 ohms... checked battery... 12.75 volts.. any clues whats the issue... or what my ohms reading should have read... ???

Still clicks when try to start and positive terminal on battery smokes...

Hopefully its a relay issue... really do not feel like taking apart pipe side to get to starter... !!!

Starter, stuck bendix or cable/connection on starter. Either way, the issue is likely downstream from the solenoid.

There is no positive or negative side on a solenoid, it is simply an electrically actuated switch. One side has constant 12 volts, the other side is "switched" 12 volts. When the solenoid is triggered by the start button, it closes an internal set of contacts and, if it is functioning correctly, 12 volts should be present on both terminals of the solenoid. If not, then there is an issue with the solenoid.
