Elemental Covers

I talked to him about 3 weeks ago. I’m still waiting on 2 covers that I have down payments on. I don’t know how much he wants me to share online, but I guess he is going through some stuff. He has been pretty good about responding to my calls.

Yeah, I'm going on a year in April, waiting for a cover that I bought and paid for for. I've heard 37 different excuses and stories. There's always a "situation"- Family drama/Phone issue/Scanner issues, legal snafus, blah, blah, blah". He's always been good with returning calls or texts, until lately. After 6 months of excuses...He assured me that my cover would be in my hands by March 1. That deadline came and went. The story I got was that he was "out of town and his brother shipped it". When I requested tracking info...he couldn't provide it. Now, he's not returning phone calls, emails, or texts. Yet, as of the last few days he's been active on FakeBook, posting some weird SH*T.

So, if he's having some sort of personal crisis or financial meltdown...I'm over it_ I just want my $$ back.

After several issues with my cover and over a year and a half of waiting I just licked my wounds and moved on. But in his defense I never reached out to attempt to correct my cover the 3rd time as I was just over it and my pristine ski received a lovely scratch while I was waiting for my cover. Ended up just buying a 40$ Amazon one that works great and fits better.

Yesterday, I finally got in contact with Brandon. He got (another) new phone and I had a short, rather curt conversation with him. As usual, he sounds contrite and apologetic. But, I flat out told him that I no longer want the cover after waiting almost a year. He says a refund from PayPal has been submitted. How long does that usually take? Also, he says that he has "no idea where the cover that his brother supposedly shipped is". And, his brother doesn't have the receipt. OK. I'm pretty sure you could just go back to the shipper and they would have that 411 in their system, no?

So, let's see how things play out...But, I ain't holding my breath.

I think I paid around 280ish for my Reaper cover. So far I have been impressed with it. But I also got it in less than a month.

Update:

After repeatedly leaving messages, texts, emails, etc. he finally got back to me and issued a refund via PayPal. Initially, I didn't see the refund and got even more frustrated. He tells me that "PayPal won't process refunds or claims on transactions over 180 days". WTF??? So, I tell Bernie Madoff, err Brandon...to just forget that and simply do a new transaction to me for the amount I originally paid.

It finally went through.

I honestly think I would have been strung along indefinetly on this deal. And, I don't think I would have seen my $$ either, unless I took the approach I did. If I had put him on blast, which I was tempted to do...that would have just given him an excuse to ghost me.

Going forward, my advice to anyone thinking about buying one of these covers...is be careful. Go into it understanding that it's a risky endeavor.

Brandon, if you're reading this... I won't say "Thank You" for doing the right thing and finally refunding me. You completely wasted my time. And, this method of doing business is lame. You have a good quality cover, but...the juice ain't worth the squeeze. I think you're in over your head trying to run a business.

Over and out.

Going forward, my advice to anyone thinking about buying one of these covers...is DON'T. Go into it understanding that there are plenty of reputable places to get comparable, cheaper and better covers.

Fixed it for ya.
