KAWASAKI SXR + EME Q8 = inexpensive backy FUN :Banane01:

The EME Q8 can take any motor: Yamaha, Polaris, or in this case the Kaw SXR 800 motor…special EME composite bedplate is required. This ski will use all stock parts with the exception of the waterbox (I am running the old school X-metal box), gas tank (I am using a Kaw 550 tank), factory pipe (w/ sj mod chamber), skat-trak trim, and Kaw 142 mag pump.

You can run all stock SXR parts minus the gas tank and waterbox.
Here is a rough idea of $ spent to do this conversion (this is NOT my actual for this build…I want to show how inexpensive an EME/SXR backflip ski could cost compared to a NEW SXR):

USED SXR…………..…$2500 …..(I bought my SXR NEW)
EME Q8 hull.………...$6000
Waterbox………………$150
550 Gas Tank………..$40
Used -minus 5 pole.$400
SXR hull, sold………(-$1000)
Factory Pipe B mod.$600
Turf………………………...$150

EME Q8 + SXR conversion TOTAL: $8840

COMPARED TO:
New SXR: $6699……….Out The Door Price : $7600

...and yes, we have 2! :Banane35:

Very true - it will accept a stock pump however. I was able to sell most of my Kawi parts not used in the conversion (water box, stock pipe, handle pole bracket, choke and reserve knobs, pump, exit nozzle, prop, intake grate, ride plate) to generate quite a bit of income towards the build. I've included some pictures of the boat with the decal kit Eric provided and the completed turf work. Eric offers multiple designs and many color schemes; I told him what I was looking for and he sent me images of a number of options to choose from. I am very happy with my choice – I’d love to hear others’ opinions!

Very nice. I don't think I've ever read about anyone being unhappy with one of Eric's setups.

In all honesty working with Eric has been awesome. Not only does he know his stuff, he wants you to enjoy the experience of riding what he builds. When i decided to buy my first Q8 I did it with the hopes of having his knowledge as a tool and I was spot on. Im not trying to plug him or help him sell hulls but I love the hulls and I love that he picks up the phone and helps you. I have heard this from a lot of guys that are on his stuff now. I especially like that he pushes you towards the less expensive route on setups instead of telling you to spend the money on the big motors and big pumps. Not to mention he is always happy to help you with your riding and who better to get pointers from?
