Octane engine backfire

Hi all i am having problems with starting my octane i can get it to run for approx 20 secs then it just coughs and backfires and wont start up again until you leave it for 24hrs approx with the spark plugs out, i have just fully rebuilt the engine with all new parts inc stator, i have 170psi in both cyls, i have also changed the reeds and rebuilt the carbs and fuel pump, the only thing i have noticed is that im not getting a great flow of petrol on the return to the tank when ski is on tick over is this a problem? to me it sounds like its igniting fuel in the crankcase when the piston is down because the octanes cyls both spark at the same time, is this correct? The crankcases are dry because if i disconnect the fuel supply and dry plugs off then crank over engine the plugs come back out dry. Any help/:booty: advice what to do next would be greatly appreciated thanks

you could have broken a reed , put pistons in backwards, or be off on the timing some how. after it dies next time check for good spark from both plugs before you pull it apart to rule that out

I had a key break a couple weeks ago on my Octane at WOT. it just wouldnt run after. I tore that sucker all apart before finding the culprit. needless to say I was pissed. I eneded up buying like 6 keys just to be safe in the future.:bigok:
