Engine bay paint?

You think so.....until after that exhaust leak...... and then it looks like crap until you strip ski and clean it and possibly have to repaint it to make it look nice again. Been there and done that and no thanks again.

But that's the point...you fix the exhaust leak before it makes a mess. If it was black you wouldn't know.

Oh you know. Three ways to know....dirty mess inside engine bay (gets on engine too so you know regardless of ski color), runs like crap, and exhaust coming out of engine compartment when you take the hood off.

Paint color really doesn't matter for detecting leaks....and cleaning the smooth white paint color isn't a problem. It's getting all the crooks and crevasses clean that is the problem.

Painted my FootRocket with 2 part epoxy white then splatter black and yellow.

I like the plain white you can see everything really well, like lost screws, oil, leaks, cracks etc...
I had splatter, sprinkle and black and didn't work for me

Tinted mine red when reinforced...I just like red, but it's really easy to see or find stuff in there, easy to clean and it's red. Amazing that only a very tiny bit of the tint was needed.

Because of the difficulty to get proper bilge coatings here. I'm thinking of using Rustoleum Epoxy Shield - Garage Floor Coating.

It's made to handle gas and oil, and it has done great on my floors.

I am going to be using the gloss grey, which I think will look good, is light enough to see problems and parts, and still be able to hide subtle imperfections. Also, I have a gallon of gloss grey sitting here already for my deck.

i've seen a few people do that on pwctoday, it actually turned out pretty well and resistant. Definitely worth a try
