Kawasaki x2, 750 small pin. Best performance was 7200/7300 rpms 53/54 mph.

Was just cruising around, maybe 1/2 throttle. Starting missing. Went to shore checked plugs.... nope, not the issue.

Was 3 to 4 miles away from a thing. Made it home under it's own power.

totally typical 750 failure.
the skirts always break off and grenade the cases.
if it would have been pulled apart and checked out before the blow up, you would have seen cracks.

The top end was old and loose. I knew it was going to go at some point. Just didnt realize it would be so dramatic...

Shopping list now inclues,
New cases-
New crank-
New pistons-
Fresh bore and hone-
New gaskets-

Oddly enough what's not on the list is new domes for the ada head, they were untouched by this.


Part of me wants to go back to a 760 in the x2. It was an absolute rocket with that motor. But I have a bunch of goodies for the kawi motor... lightened flywheel, msd enhancer, ada head, rebuilt e box by jss.
