You will never have to worry about wearing an engine out unless it is modified and raced. I have seen engines fail too soon when its owner makes poor technical decisions, which is often. Corrosion and lack of maintenance, by far, end up killing engines long before they would have failed otherwise. The best oil for corrosion protection is also the cheapest, TCW-3. Its temp range will never be exceeded if you dont make power for very long, perfect for free riding. Always dry run the engine until the temp sensor shuts it down and store the ski with the hood propped open. Your skis second owner will thank you.

yep, I don't think I've ever seen an engine just wear out.... ever. I've changed more than my fair share of engines and it's never the engines fault.

did you start your ski before you pulled the plug? reading plugs mean nothing when the ski was running at idle.

i think he means flush it out till it overheats
(remind when his ski is up 4sale to back away)

The overheat sensor kicks in long before anything gets too hot. Its just a convenient way to judge the temp. I take my Kawasakis even hotter, at least 190F, no corrosion.

The one cylinder is defiantly a tad richer then the other. The one is close to that brown color, the other is alot more black.

You want to read the porcelain's color right?

This thing is a beast. A SHO motor in a 88 Mazda 626 (was turbo 2.2l) still has functional 4ws. They only made 1500 of the 4ws 626s since no one would pay an extra 4 grand for 4ws. Completely custom.:fest06:

fell free to check out my other videos; I have a few jet ski vids from my first couple times in surf last fall. I had only been riding for 2 months.

You were asking about the plugs ? Like mentioned above. If you dont run the boat at like 3/4 to full throttle as your coming back in to check them you wont get a good reading on the plug....

I have always given it like a 3/4 to wide open right before I come back in, and dont let it idle.. those look like idle plugs to me.
If you BRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPP. then shut off right before you pull in. Good reading then.:beerchug:

I am not worried too much about the plug reading..... I thought the plug reading still meant something even though the ski was at idle or pretty close when I shut it off before I left the lake... I actually took the plugs off at home... wouldnt those plugs let you know how the low speed adjustment is set at least?

I have no hesitation or bogging after idling when I get on the throttle and no bogging or cutting out when running in the upper RPMs either.... when I run at WOT it screams... that seems like pretty much good to me... my ski runs strong and since the plugs I am showing above really dont mean much- I guess I am not worried about it then... I did buy some new plugs to throw in anyways which is prob cool since those have seen a bit of use... I got a good deal at NAPA autoparts on the solid top (3961) BR8ES plugs... finally found a part I can use that I didnt have to order... amazing!
