3-6ft waves on the lake today. My ski engine ended up locking on me. Towed it in and attached is what we found.
The engine was excessively hot when we brought it in, but I thought that may have been because of having to limp it into the harbor before towing. The crank is locked on the ski, but I am still able to move it about a half inch or so in each direction, which I'm hoping is a sign that the crank is fine, but the piston is seized. I'm planning to pull the engine apart as soon as I make time for it, just looking for some presumptions as to what happened or may have caused this issue to happen, and also how expensive of a fix this may be if I decide to rebuild it myself. Thanks for any advice/opinions.
