I got an e-mail back from xscream
771cc - $4,200
828cc - $5,400

Keep in mind the amount of items of work we do with this price structure.
This is for a COMPLETE running engine PACKAGE and includes additional work we do for the intake system and exhaust system with major amount of case work.

I was in the same boat as you some time ago.
Always thinking if I would be missing out on a lot of power because of that last $200 I wanted to save. Maybe I can do this now and that soon after.
Contacted builders and made my decision based on the conversations.

Dead reliable and more than I expected is what I got. Thank you Chucky.

Now we have 3 X-Scream motors in our group, all slightly different in setup and amount of work done but all 3 are the ones that never quit.
It's good to go to the beach, hit the start button and just ride.
That to me is priceless.

I wonder what parts are included. Is that a new crankcase , crankshaft cylinder and head, reed cages ? gaskets and seals and labor to assemble? A complete running engine means carbs and intake manifold as well.

I was under the impression that a shortblock is cases, crank, cylinder, head, pistons, assembled.
A longblock would additionally include intake manifold, reeds, carbs, ignition, and possibly exhaust.

:dunno:

If what you (Radney) are describing is a longblock, what do you consider a shortblock?

When I worked for a Yamaha/Seadoo Dealership if I were to order a short block from Seadoo I would get an Engine with no head. Since I replaced so may Seadoo engines compared to Yamaha I kind of got in the habit of seeing a short block as this configuration.

How about this:
This is the price for an assembled 61x cylinder based Engine that comes ready for you to install all your bolt ons (Carbs, Electricals, Exhaust)
:bigok:

I wonder what kind of crankshaft you get with the 771 ? ? I would assume it is all new cases and cylinder. The head I assume would be girdled (brand ?) All new yamaha bolts on cylinder head and cases except maybe the engine mounting bracket and the bolts to them.

Yes all parts are brand new and all hardware is OEM.
- 771cc - Hotrods crank (can substitute OEM for Extra charge)
- 828cc - Crankworks +5mm Crank
- Wiseco Pistons (modified)
- ADA Girdled Head (custom domes)

Sjetfactory,

Yes, You can run stock 38's...BUT I don't recommend using them at this stage, why throw away money and horsepower.
I have all stages of performance levels.
With that said you should have maxed out the performance level of a 701 with right recipe of bolt ons before going for all the machine work and the big cc's. So you should ALREADY have an intake SYSTEM/ big carbs set up.
With over 30 years in 2 strokes, I don't put the cart in front of the horse.
