Super Jet Engine shims help

recently pulled my motor for the first time. Of course I paid NO attention to my motor mid-shaft alignment before I pulled it. Upon replacing the motor I realized that I needed to shim the motor (there were no shims previously). Everything lined up well with the exception of the distance between the drive couplers. Wamilton says between 2 and 2.5 mm. Mine are closer to 8 mm apart. Prior to tightening down the motor mounts I pushed the motor as far backwards as possible. What could be causing the excessive distance between the couplers? Motor shaft or the mid-shaft issue?

Mine had an excessive gap like that as well..?

So I found out that prop has been wearing in the pump for some time now.. It'll need a new wear ring and impeller..:/ I think my bearing is shot too. It smells like shlt.

Is the wear ring sleeved in there, or the whole piece of the pump?(sorry realitivly new to skis)

Also, the ski ran fine before I checked all ofthis out, so should I assemble and ride like this just to get me out on tw water before I have the replacements? Or are there other things that will get destroyed?

the midshaft can be pressed in or out some to adjust coupler gap when you have no more motor movement options or unable to add or delete washers next to the coupler...I never run them so close at 2mm or 2.5mm, more like 1/4 inch...
