Has anyone ever heard of or tried transplanting a 701 into a Kawi hull. I was just toying with the idea only because I have a spare 650 hull lying around with no engine. Kind of the old chevy in the ford idea...lol. I even saw a 3 cylinder snowmobile engine in a 550 hull up in Alaska years ago, the pump couldn't handle it.

I've thought a 550/440 - 701 would be a interesting conversion. Never heard of anyone doing it though. For a 650 it doesn't seem it would be enough bump in performace to be worth the trouble.

You don't think a 100+ hp 701 in a 650 wouldn't be fun? They are about 50 stock.

There are some sick skis on that site, too bad it's not in english.

It actually doesn't look like it would be that hard to do...
One problem you would run into is.... The yamaha pumps are a lot better than the kawi pumps. So even adding power with the yamaha motor, you won't have the hookup you are used to with a yamaha.

There were pics that showed the yami motor on the kawi bedplate. I guess they made an adapter similar to what is used in a 440/550 hybrid.

Ok, I am going to really go out on a ledge and say how about a Lamey in my X2? Probably have to upgrade to a magnum pump, just for starters. Anyone ever see one of the old magnum 650 style pumps laying around?

If I ever round up the cash I am goign to put a 750 engine in my X2. I have a spare hull that got crashed and repaired once. It is my guinney pig. I plan to test fit on it, then put in my good X2. We will see.....

Crab,

Did you ever see that tripple cylinder 1100 Wave Raider in a Square Nose? I have some pics somewhere. I never saw it in person though.....

Also I saw a pic of an 1100 ZXi in an X2 on PWCToday.com

i have a video of the 1200 in the fx1
sounds good but i dont think it it sactually that much fun to ride by the way it delivers its power
maybe if they had fitted the tripple pipes on it

Just b/c I am tired of saving up money for my superjet I was thinking about throwing my 800 sxr engine in the Round nose. I would never really ever do it, but at least I would have practically as much power as a stocker 701 with a b-pipe if I did. Just a thought, but only a thought.

Saw the triple in the X2, it was tite. I am putting together a small pin 750 to go in my x2, most likely get it in over the winter. It has some raised exhaust porting and had to adjust the head for proper compression. I also will be running no base gasket (per advise) and only 1211, with a .020 copper head gasket. Coffmans pipe, dual 40mm carbs, .5mm overbore with wiseco pistons, 650 stator and flywheel, stock rev limiter for now, probably some tapered tau ceti's, and to hook it up a custom swirl setback impeller. I don't care about top speed at all, just want it to jump out of the water and rip your arms off. Staying with the stock rev limit to maintain some longevity, the pipe makes most of its power below that I am told.

Helll yeah! That all souns lieka good plan. I had a small pin 750 in a 650 SX. Singe 44 SBN, Coffma's, 650 electrics, Jetinetics wheel, ect.... Well it ran good when it ran good.... Other than that, it was a headache. Nut for some reason, I want to do it again.....
