Engines for around 2k budget

I am in the market for a motor for my round nose, I pulled my longblock for another project. I have around 2k to spend on an engine. So far the options I have considered are a jetmaniac 718, or a few used jet maniac motors. I ride almost entirely on a lake jumping boat wakes, and would like something a step above a stock 701. My ski already has a b pipe.

why not buy vinces 718?

that price range will get you anything between 701+ to 800 for the most part... There might be a few motors just over 800 that you can afford but they might be more then a few years old.

Yeah but it never ran like I would expect a big money engine to run.it did get better as he dialed in the tuning but for 2k I would buy a 718 any day plus you get jetmaniacs legendary customer service

With 2K total budget, getting the carbs and intake may blow you past that point with most of the setups. I think the @JetManiac 701-760 is a good way to come close. I am not backflipping with a SJ hull off my own wake, but I can roll it off its own wake and get some big air 180s and nose stabs with it. It is a pretty impressive little motor.

I agree with the JetManiac setup. I had a 735 in a RN, and it absolutely shredded. Will work fine with stock 38's too. Not to mention, you get the phenomenal service he provides.

In this budget the JM is the ONLY WAY to go. This is why Chris has excelled in this industry so well. He fits a huge need for decent priced setups. No one else out there seems to want to deal with this price range motors anymore. When they did it was a lot higher ct than JM's . The nice thing is you send him a clapped out motor and you get a bolt in with tune spec info back. Its the EASY BOTTON for budget minded builds.
Chris is the king of affordable good power.
