TBM says it should work, based on the magnets being the same shape as oem.

It's not apples to apples but Advent says their ignitions will work with the TBM's. :dunno:

Tim Bushman told me yesterday that the tBM flywheels have the same square magnets has a oem flywheel. So if thats the case then the EPIC should work?

It will be more a case of how much voltage is put out by the magnets that will determine if it works ok or not. I am borrowing a TBM flywheel to test and it should be here today or tomorrow. I don't have any other aftermarket flywheels to test though as I am total loss kinda guy...

Id be real surprised if the tbm doesnt work with the epic,I know they work with the advent,a friend was running both for a while. ill be just as surprised if the epic works with any other a/m fw. Someone here was buying one to test with a rad,we shall see.

X2....gotta have gen 2 and you're good. I'm running a lightened OEM wheel and it satisifies my "jones" for having run a TL prior to this.
Goodbye having to charge a battery. Woot!!!

Works awesome in my ski, problems were with gen1 TBM flywheels (they were cobranded with RRP)

There are some TBM flywheels that are not branded with the RRP logo on them that also DO NOT work with the Epic. At this stage I myself have been unable to identify the difference between a working and not working TBM/Epic combo without actually testing it in the ski.

Watty is right, after a phone conversation with Rick today it is likely that the branding may not mean its a 1st or 2nd generation flywheel, I will ty to get more info on this. What I do know for sure is that the one we tested which we believe to be a 1st generation does not have strong enough magnets to supply EPIC with enough voltage to maintain a reliable timing curve at cranking speed, hence the reluctance to start and backfiring etc.
All I can say at this point if you want to use one of these fywheels is... unless you can be sure its quite new and not old stock.....BE CAREFUL.
Chris.

No way any TBM wheel is worth the money. With what #zero just did to that 61x flywheel (2.2lbs) for $125 shipped from jetmaniac there's no reason to use one or ever pay more than about $150 shipped for those things from tbm.
