Other Epic Hx3 needs re-jetting carbs.

Have seen one case where a 771 needed bigger pilot jets and heard of another ski that needed re-jetted also in some unknown way. Seems this isn't common knowledge and I thought I'd pass it along. Not sure if this is the case with smaller motors like 701. Also as a reminder do not use non resistor plugs. Example : Do not use B8ES....use BR8ES.

More advance and greater spark energy often means you need to re jet.
Chris.
What's interesting is my Gen 1 Epic did not need re-jetted on a XS 735 and it had 30 degrees advance rising quickly after 1500 rpm. Maybe the Hx3 has higher spark energy or it's relevant to higher cc's.

If your ski was jetted correctly prior to adding the Hx3 I would add some fuel to the circuits after installing it for maximum Braaap by either turning the screws or possibly jetting up if you are running the #2 curve . every engine will be a little different with its fuel needs depending on your engine combo ,and how well its jetted to begin with . i personally went up one on the mains and out on the pilot screws .this combo worked good for me .

Local rider could not adjust it rich enough for his 771. He needed to go up 5 with the pilot jets to provide enough fuel which shows the HX3 makes a significant difference.

I haven't had a problem, got a full season on mine with zero problem, but I was born with "the Midas touch!" lol.
We recommend you always use resistor rated plugs with any digital ignition.
Chris.
I have personally witnessed two skis unable to start up and only fire sporadic and shut off. One had a Flame and the other a HX3. Put in resistor plugs and bam, runs fine.
