epic vs flame reliability

i have read all past posts but still not sure. i have an xs865 in my q8 that will be running mainly flatwater but also surf. is there reliability issues epic vs flame. or both will fail if connections and waterproofing is poor? ie is the only downside to the flame, needing to charge the battery? There is a good deal locally that would mean i can get a flame for the same price it costs me to ship over an epic. Soooo should i run an epic or flame in my ski?! so confused.

If you're riding mainly FW get the Flame...we have a local rider that has good luck with his even in saltwater. MSD TL is the one needing good protected connections especially with its 50,000 volts system.

My message to Lee: "Hi. What is your opinion on MSD TL vs ATP Flame on a DASA 1200
Lee: "I have tried and tested both ignitions. I found better results and reliability with Flame, all my builds i now use the Flame TS2 Hope this helps."

I considered that, but with having two MSD Brains die on me over the years and that the Flame can fit in a Kawi electrical box, I am going with the Flame.

I wish my CDI-9R was programmable, it has been bulletproof for the 7yrs I have had it. It has seven basic selectable curves, but the pickup timing is different between a kawi and a yami.

If you want more power, go the Flame. If you don't want to charge your battery, go Epic.

I run the old flame and love it, it is easy too setup fits stock ebox lightes flywheel on the market. I Can run more than 2 tanks off fusel ( stock sj tank). With the new ts2 i think it is a better system than MSD, and the tech support from ATP is the best.
