Well,,After a couple Cycles of soaking and letting it sit on the bench for 24 hour periods the epoxy can now be scraped with my fingernail....Not sure if this is a common issue with all brands suggested in the post....but i don't think i would use the loctite metal in my motor.... I think ill try the jb weld next

I have been using jb weld for ages, I have not had any come off other than when I had a guy let the engine sit in water for a month.
It corroded under the jbweld and lifted it off. Not really a fault of the jbweld.
I understand what you are saying about the loctite getting soft but its not sitting in fuel when its in your engine. Its in a fuel rich enviroment but the airflow past it will keep it dry as well

Epoxy just cured at room temperature might be considered still "green" at 24 hours. There also is a difference in chemistry between the product mentioned in post #2 and the "convenience" pack variety shown in post 11. The epoxy in post 2 holds up for a few years- at least for me- there is some initial shrinkage you'll need to get used to. Furthermore keep in mind: you don't get a chemical bond between the aluminum and the epoxy, so roughing up the surface and treating with Alumaprep helps adhesion!

interesting experiment, soaking epoxy in gas isnt a good test though, most an chemical will change when submerged in any kinda fuel, acetone, lacquer thinner. Ethching cross hatch lines in alum really helps adhesion to a huge extinct
