Eric Malone Announcement (from ijsba.com)

July 2, 2007
I wanted to make the following announcement personally so that there is no discrepancy concerning the following topics.
I want to first thank each person that reads this for your love and support towards the sport of personal watercraft. Your passion has fueled my career for over a decade. With out you the fan, supporters, and sponsors, my dreams and ideas could never have become a reality.
I have been blessed with 8 IJSBA World championships, and 7 U.S. National Championships. The sport of personal watercraft has been my life since I was 12 years old.
Going into the 2006 IJSBA world finals I made a decision that after that event it was time to step outside the arena and take some time off from competition. This holds true for 2007. I will be taking this year off from competition. Please understand that this is not a retirement announcement. I have also encountered an injury to my right wrist. On March 8, 2007, I was involved in a snow board accident, which left me with a broken scaphoid bone. If you are not aware of this injury, it takes a very long time to heal. I have undergone two surgeries and a bone graft to ensure healing. What great timing for an injury! Guess I should keep the barrel rolls on the ski.
In place of competition for 2007, I will be directing my focus towards a new video, EME signature watercraft, rider support programs, WFWA stunt shows, and working in conjunction with the IJSBA during the 2007 world finals by offering the first ever junior freestyle clinic.
VIDEO
We will be working on an all-new DVD, which will highlight the future of personal watercraft like you never imagined.
EME SIGNATURE WATERCRAFT
As you know, we have been campaigning the EME 800cc, and 1000cc competition watercraft for over three years. We will be focusing on promoting the EME product at the world finals and also to support the PWC industry.
JUNIOR FREESTYLE CLINIC
I will personally be working with the IJSBA in providing a freestyle clinic for the up and coming junior class. I am very excited about this because in order for our sport to continue its growth, we need to encourage the next generation of athletes to step into the lime light, and continue the dreams that fuels our competitive energy towards the sport.
Sincerely,
Eric Malone

How the hell do you get that? :banghead: You must not have made it to the Daytona Freeride 07/ :woot:

Last weekend in St Pete went off for freestyle as well... Havell, Parr, Bogart, Stoyer... all throwing down :Banane01:

Hopefully things just keep getting better.... This year seems to be stepping it up as far as I can tell! More people dropping dough on freestyle products then ever!

Dont get me wrong, 2 of the worlds best riders are off the water and out of competition this year. Im just bummed

Malone is such a class act!(not being sarcastic).

Yeah dude I couldn't agree more. When I met him at Daytona I was expecting a very cocky SOB, but he turned out to be a really down to earth friendly guy. He was behind me in line waiting for a hose to clean his ski out and he just waited paitently like everyone else then helped clean his ski out himself instead of having his mechanic do all the work.

I'm pretty sure he can ride too.:hail::brap:

We definitely need more guys like him in our sport. Sometime's the big guys in any sport forget how much impact they can have on the younger generation and how much of an opportunity they have to spread the sport in a positive way.
