Erratic Sparking on Maniac 735

Hey guys I'm getting some erratic sparking issues on my Maniac 735 that just started a couple weeks ago. My ski while riding will randomly go from full power down to just 1 cylinder firing and then back to full power the entire time i'm out. I've trimmed plug wires and that didn't solve it. Now I'm debating whether to replace my JSS coil or if my MSD Enhancer has gone kaput... Any help is greatly appreciated!

So I guess the MSD enhancer going bad wouldn't cause only one plug to not fire. If that went bad then most likely would have no fire on either cylinder correct?

If it's only one cylinder then it's a pretty short list of culprits. Replacing the coil with a known good one would be a good place to start but it wouldn't hurt to make sure you don't have something else going on like a bad or fouling plug.

Coil only has a single input wire coming from the CDI. Try cutting the plug wires back first, if that does not fix it. Get a new coil. OEM 750 Kawi coil is cheaper than the OEM yamaha and exactly the same.

If you can find a 760 coil, then even better. Does not have the stranded wires in the plug leads.

I would cut the ignition cable at the ebox before cracking it open and yanking the coil. Plug in a multi meter and flex cable around and make sure you have continuity through out cable while it's flexing. Most the time they break at crimp but not alsways. Depends how long they are, cable brand, how you have them routed, and how much your motor vibrates.

At the very least it won't hurt but could save you some $$ vs buying a coil. If you need cables I have the same modle/brand JSS uses for $1.75/ft, terminals, and loom also available ;)
