ET 1107 Flywheel Bolt

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone had a happy holiday season.
I just upgraded from an ET 967 to an ET 1107 and started to build today. As I was putting the motor together I noticed a pretty big gap in between the flywheel and flywheel bolt. I am currently using a CPI Total Loss Flywheel (California Freestyles Ignition System) and an OEM flywheel bolt. I had no problem installing the flywheel and bolt on the 967 and my assumption is it's because 1107 has a different crank but if anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated?

Do I just need to fill the gap with washers or do I need a special flywheel bolt?

Make sure you chase the threads. If it is arts crank he didn’t tap them deep enough. You have to run a washer. It should go in deeper than your pic though

Ditto. Run a tap in it. Mine was tight at the end but it did go in all the way. It was a miss in machining on his cranks.

Hey guys, thanks for the info. It looks like the thickness of the OEM bolt is too thick for the snout of Art's cranks. Because of the thin flywheel, I am using I would need to use about an inch of washers to keep the bolt snug on the crank which I am not a fan of. I am bringing the bolt to a machine shop to have it machined down and threads matched all the way to the collar.
