Hi dude, i dont wanna stress you out - but are you running a ET crank?
Could you please verify that your crank is true 180 degree phase, pics might be deciving - but it looks like both pistons has open exhaust port.
I bought a brand new ET engien from Art (RIP) for a freind, that that a ET crank in it, which twisted out of phase with initial start up - ski had not been in water yet, so no it could not have hydro locked.
Good eye Christian!!

Quick visual check is see if one piston is all the way down when one is all the way up. If one is at TDC and u rotate a bit more before the other one reaches the bottom, you’ve got a problem.

I checked multiple times and even had my wife come out and check my eyeball check. The pistons are at absolute TDC and BDC at the same time. No twisted crank. Interesting that both exhaust ports look open at the middle of the rotation though. The power valves look like they should cover the tops of the exhaust ports as there are now. No idea how that works on the top end though when they open.

I will be finding my lean bog with my pilot and counting turns to figure out where I am with jetting. Then I'll go for the main jet after. I also have a coil on the way, not sure it's an issue but the one I have is at least 10 years old and might as well replace that.

Reporting back in!

My lightened flywheel cracked at the edge and ate a bit of my pickup. Replaced both and she rips. Thanks for the help all, and a big shout out to @waxhead for the investigation direction.
Thats awesome. tell me can you tell the difference between the light weight flywheel and the heavy flywheel in performance

Wax, I removed the magnets in the flywheel so it's 1/2 llightened. I have no charging components in my stator cover or my ebox so I hammered out the magnets before I installed. That said, I can't see a difference between this version and the super lightened version.

Ahh fair enough. I have started adding rotating weight these days you actually get way better drive in my testing

What tune are you guys running with your zeel? I think mines got too much timing and caused detonation… Only a little but I also seized my crank in like 30 hours… trying to figure out a more conservative tune below is the tune that was in the ski. The wax curve seems significantly less timing. Or should I just mix some race gas in it? 180 comp. should be higher with new top end and crank coming.

Have any of you guys had issues with the ET 52mm carbs? I have them on a new ET1200. I've clenaed a lot of machining swarf and other junk out of these (new) carbs, but for the life of me, I can't get one of them to supply fuel properly. I've had these things apart so many times it's not funny. I'm leaning towards a machining error somewhere in the low speed curcuit. Unfortunately, being that Art is no longer with us, I'm looking for others thay may have encountered a similar problem.

@Watty I have a set of et 52mm carbs I have been running them for 3 years without an issue. Are you running two fuel pumps?

Yeah mate, set up with the twin fuel pumps, plenty of fuel getting into carbs, and returning into the tank. Return line restrictor in place etc, but for some reason, I think there is a difference between the two carbs. The small idle circuit hole under the throttle plate seemed to be blocked, the low speed jet orifices had junk in them as well. They now seem to be both the same, clean etc. but the rear carb just doesn't want to supply enough fuel for some reason.

Anyone ever have any luck with mikuni 46's at sea level? Thinking of using one of these in the surf
I run dual 46's at Havasu which is about 500ft elevation.
