Ever have an x scream chin pad tear off?

It seems one of our demo skis lost a chin pad. Since I have to pay for a new one I'm wondering if anyone has a better way to fasten it? The tiny Allen bolt was not enough and the pad tore right off and to the bottom she went. I guess a large washer might do the trick. Just curious if anyone else has a better solution?

make your own that is stronger at the attachment point? Maybe a metal plate inbetween the weave?

Was yours missing the finger that slides into the handlepole? It makes it pretty snug, then with the top bolt in, the chin pad is secure.

Nope, it had the finger on it too. I thought maybe I missed something putting them together. It only came with one bolt to hold it down, no washer so I didn't think twice about it when I assembled.

I use a washer under the bolt head on mine. Been solid for two seasons. That being said, I'll lose it next season. Lol

Here's a pic. Hard to see though, but the washer is wider than the bolt head. Red loctite on mine.

i've never lost one but i've had them come loose using no or a small washer. now i use the same size washer as the finger uses and on both sides of the carbon.
