Explain this fuel run out and engine run

Everytime my fuel runs out in the tank my engine rpm picks up like crazy. My throttle is at idle. I can see air in fuel lines. Return and intake lines. I got clear light green hose and filters clear to observe fuel lines. My stop and kill switch dont work and motor kee0s running. I pull the spark plug ignition cap wires off and engine still fires. What the hell. It then takes about 30 secs to burn fuel and the engine shuts off.

When the carb(s) does not get sufficient fuel, it will cause the mixture to be excessively lean - it's still getting enough air. When this happens, stop ignition and open throttle fully (!!!!!). That will stop the run away. Try not to run out of petrol on a regular basis- especially while underway- it heats the top of the pistons too much!

Losing fuel = lean condition. Dont let ski run out of gas. If this happens by accidnet, pump primer to offset lean condition.
