im in the same boat and know of 2 others in it as well. What sleaves are you running? Maybe we can do a group buy out of Japan and reduce the costs some???????
I'm going to be using custom sleeves from Northwest with Sea-Doo 951 domes machined to fit the Yamaha ADA girdled head with a stroker crank for a displacement of over 900cc on the stock 62T/61X setup.

What size do you need?

the gp pistons have a bigger pin bearing, but are readily available in that size, are there any thicker pin bearings that make up the diameter distance?

The GP pistons have a higher compression height and won't work with stroker cranks well with my setup.

These flat top pistons are 4mm lower than the stock Yamaha pistons and work well with stroker applications and sleeves with lower than stock 61x port timing.

Does DASA carry pistons? or can get what you want?

I am at 86.5mm on R&D sleves. I think I can use these out to about 88mm using the ADA larger domes and boring the head (basically the same as your doing).

The R&D and Northwest big bore sleeves have a 91mm outside diameter that will work well up to 87mm but the Sea-Doo 951 domes won't work with these sleeves.

If you want to use them with 88mm or 89mm pistons you have to have the sleeves custom made to a 93mm outside diameter with a larger flange at the top.

The ADA Sea-Doo 951 domes start 89mm at zero squish gap with a twelve degree angle so they need to be machined deeper with the correct piston diameter, squish angle and gap for flat top piston & stroker use.

What about the ADA domes they are using for thier Big Bore Billet cylenders? I thought they would go rite to the edge of the flange on the top of the sleeve?
It would seem that making a custom dome would be easier then custome sleeves and reporting and boring the cylender even more. If I can get away with 87mm and 88mm I'll be happy. 2 more bores is 2 more seasons on a Tim judge ported R&D set up that ROCKS!
I see your point though, you want 91mm gofer holes!

I believe 86.5mm is the largest bore size on any after market Yamaha 701/760 head with the stock cylinder without having any o-ring sealing issues.

The ADA billet cylinder domes have a .010" squish gap built into them with a bore size of 91mm and they have larger diameter sleeves on the billet cylinder kit.

The 951 domes don't have that gap making them the better choice for sealing on the smaller bore sizes but they'll only work well if your pistons are flat with or above the deck surface because they have a 12-degree angle that needs to be machined out for flat top piston use.

Since you're running the stock stroke crank with the cylinder decked down it doesn't make sense to machine the head, domes and cylinder for only one bore size increase.

NICE find! whats the chances of finding those on close out in the US on Flea bay to boot.:arms::love::dunce:

you should have played the lottery that day!:smashfreakB:

what ya gonna sell them for?

I don't even want to sell them because they're real hard to come by that cheap. :tomato:

I'm going to build some super-bore stroker engines with custom sleeves using the new ADA head shell and 951 domes listed in the link above.

These pistons are top quality weighing in at only 359 grams for the 87mm size and 371 grams for the 88mm size; even lighter than the standard Wiseco 61X pistons. :woot:

I also just found out they can be custom ordered from Wiseco with a 24 count minimum and will take about five weeks to produce.

If anyone wants to order some; I could use a few sets in the 89mm and 90mm size too.

The wholesale price from Wiseco is $153.00 per piston and includes the wrist pins, rings and retaining clips.

I could probably use two sets of the 89mm & 90mm size and I believe you're limited to two sizes on the 24 piston total quantity.

Anybody else want to order some flat top super-bore Wiseco pistons? :thinkerg:

Maybe we can get a group buy going on some special order 86.5mm & 87mm Wiseco OEM dome style pistons too; they might be a bit cheaper than the flat tops.
