That's called a quad copter or quadricopter (for four rotors). Or a tri copter for three rotors.
Fun machines, I've been thinking about building one.

Looks easy enough,
Would be really cool with one of the new GoPro's or an older one with the WiFi backpack. You could watch it and/or navigator it from an iPad, tablet, or computer. This would allow you to make sure your capturing the footage you want.

the aerial footage from the free ride was filmed with a fixed wing rc plane not one of those drone quad-copters. i saw both stanton and zack almost hit it multiple times so the footage should be insane.
Basically rubbing in the fact I wasn't there!
