taking motor mounts out of my sxr to do some carbon work an i break off two of the motor mount bolts in the hull!!!!!!!!
what should i do? i hope to easy out them?

Get them soaking in PB Blaster or similar, then EZ out should do it. However, broken ez outs are common too, is there any bolt sticking up out of the insert, or did they break flush? Saltwater ski I assume?

heat it and find a candle that has been made with bees wax and let the wax melt around the bolt into the threads it usually works well with an easyout then

sometimes you can grind a slot in the top with a dremel cutoff wheel then use a slotted screw impact driver to get them out , soak it well with pb

Agree with the slotting technique...We find that by first turning it in (tighter) just a hair if you can will help break everything loose...This is also helpful when trying to pry anything loose especially when working with aluminum.

Unfortunately you are working with stainless and easy-outs are tough on stanless bolts.

spotwelding a piece of steel to the remaining bolt will give you a handle to turn, back and forth, to work the bolt loose. just dont let it get too hot.

how come you're doing carbon work on your sxr hull? I always thought the sxr hull didn't really need any reinforcing. :dunno: not sure though?
