Facebook is a crutch, plain & simple. Pull the plug & society gets kicked in the teeth for a day? A week?
A definite "chink in the amour", but not my amour.

I'm reminded of Wall-E... when people had their screens shut off for one reason or another, they suddenly realized that the screens were distracting them for the real and interesting world. Social media is communicating as much as watching porn is having sex. I don't know a single person who has responsibility in life that "went nuts" because of this event. I'm willing to bet however, that there are people who have nothing better to do (by choice, as always) than sucking at the tit of social media that went nuts, but the problem is not that they lost one of many ways to communicate, but that they are so helplessly dependent on heroi--er, I mean, social media.

It was found that 12 people were spreading 65% of mis-information on Facebook. So much for those algorithms..... That's just sad really. I stopped going on cause I never saw my friends posts, just crap about crap I don't crap about.
