I wound up getting a sx airbox modified to fit on my carbs. Do I need to remove the rubber trumpets or take out a layer of mesh to increase airflow? I know the yam guys mod their airboxes but didnt know if its needed on ours.

By mesh do you mean the spark arrestor? Not even sure if that's what it is or is called but I took mine out. I would like to know too? Not sure if I should run it without.

the mesh is the air filter. I wouldnt run it without at least two of the three layers. You never know what kind of junk could get bounced around and find its way into the air box.

Is there an issue with running pod filters with prefilters on them? Like what blowsion offers.
