I've been quoted the same price direct from Factory as I have from most freestyle suppliers.
The difference is that "Factory" knows very little about jet-ski's.

IMO: you are better off buying it from a supplier that deals with freestyle ski's.
Reason: same price. + info. If you have any questions on install, jetting, etc....factory is not gonna be helpful.
Pay the same, gain info, & help a freestyle supplier at the same time.

If you're running stock jets in your carbs...for example.

The paperwork that will come with your Factory pipe WILL BE WRONG.

They make a great pipe that will enhance performance in a big way. But they are mostly into snowmobiles.
They don't / won't even make b-pipes depending upon the season. (can't blame them, we're a small market)

depends on what you're going for.
I have a stock 701 in both ski's. A mod chamber is fine.
But, if you go to some of the extreme motor makers, the limited pipe could come in handy.

I would think ordering directly from FP would be quicker too. If another site sells them but they aren't in stock then that shop will order it, get it, and then ship it again...or worse, they'll wait until they get a couple orders to save on shipping and you'll get your stuff a month or 2 later.

they dont have any dealers, aka the shops get the pipes at the same price as you do
Not true.

At least, partially not true.
I'm not sure how the relationship works between Factory and ....."Wamiltons" for example.
But I know that Wamilton's could sell me a pipe at the same price that I could buy it straight from Factory.
The key is that, along with that sale came set-up info that was worth a lot more than Factory could offer.

I'm not telling you where to buy your pipe.
I'm telling you that you can get more value for your dollar dealing with an expert in your application.

I could see that happening.
But a good seller would , at least, let you know of delay.

Keep in mind. "Factory" doesn't make jet ski pipes all year long. At some point, whether you order from them, or from a freestyle supplier, you're gonna have to wait.

I have a buddy waiting for a pipe for a Kawai 650. When do ya figure they will set-up to make that? It's been a year and a half already.

factory pipe can usually get you one very quick. heres how it works. you call them and ask "do you have any B-pipes?" they will reply "no... it will be about 2 weeks before we get them, you better HURRY and get your order placed." then they cotinue on with their sales speech about how they sell out fast and blah blah blubbidy blah. now they have ya hooked cuz your in a panic cuz you want it NOW and you settle for the 2-3 week delay expecting a phone call at the end of the time frame to let you know it shipped. then magically just 6 business days later there is a giant box on your door step. hmmmm, what could it be? oh my gosh you think to yourself. i must be special, i got my B-pipe before anyone else. just about the time yoou call friends to let them know the good news you realize they have these castings sitting around and all they have to do is have some one knock some burrs off the parts pollish a few things, throw some screws in a bag and ship it out. ITS A SALES GIMMICK THEY USE TO GET YA HOOKED AND GET YOUR MONEY SO YA DONT LOOK FOR A USED ONE. plus i have never seen a builder sell for the same price as factory (but it has been a while since i bought one).

I don't agree that their tactic works since people search for months on here to save $100-$150 and get it immediately instead of taking the chance of FP taking a couple months. This way the person buying is in control instead of being that person hoping for something that isn't ready. What about that guy that has been waiting for 1.5 years? I don't think he feels very special.

On the other hand, they under promise and over deliver which is how every business that cares about their customers should do it. If a business said it'll ship in 2 weeks and it ships in under a week, you're excited to get it ahead of schedule. If a business says it'll ship in 3-4 days and they send you a tracking number 7-8 days later, you're pissed off and bash the company for their lies and shady dealings.

Interesting take...

I know a year ago, when i called around for my first B-pipe the cheapest, (by $75) was direct from Factory plus they had them in stock.

With the economy like it is I believe that relationships with distributors has changed quite a bit and therefore you'll have to call around again for the best prices. Discounts and programs have had to change.

factory used to sell to dealers at wholesale.then they stopped except for very few places(blowsion or wamilton's,etc..) but it now looks like other dealers are able to get them again.
did factory change their sales tactic? idk.
i would rather pay a little extra and get it from someone who's going to be able to supply tech support though.we all know how helpful techs are at factory!

i agree i like to feel like things get to me early. i only bash companies that F you over and jerk you around. unless i get a direct quote and a promise on a delivery date such as a UPS red situation i dont worry about shipping. i still think factory is using a sales pitch. ive heard from several people the exact story that i explained and recieved. who cares as long as you get it at some point.
