sorry about the bad news if its sent by ups of fed ex you are going to pay duty 100% for sure , i know factory pipe uses fed ex i got a headpipe from them and paid another 50 dollars for duty i hope i am wrong for yous sake , but i have received 100 s of items from the states

Thats funny, it was Fedex and Factory pipes that taught me the lesson to always use USPS years ago, $700 pipe with $150 duty and handling!!!!

Call and make sure they shipped it USPS, if its come UPS or Fedex (especially UPS) expect big brokerage fee's when it gets to your door

Yah, I have been down the brokerage fee avenue with Blowsion.. luckily they now ship USPS to Canada.

Well I will contact them.. Duty laws don't make sense to me. NAFTA apparently only applies to certain shipping companies.

Bad news... and good news I guess.

I ordered the pipe January 24th, they said two weeks before it would ship and it shipped on the 28th of January (I guess this is pretty typical of them).. But they shipped it UPS. So, not looking forward to the ridiculous jacked up "fee" UPS thinks its entitled over the shipping rate its already getting. marshmallow

It is not a UPS fee... it is a "duty" charged by your government that UPS is collecting (as the broker). It sucks, but they are legally required to collect. UPS probably charges a small fee to act as the broker.

Seems like postal service is the only way to "get around" the duties. As long as your person shipping can cooperate when shipping. Maybe someone else can chime in on how to get around the fees in the future.

What duty is there though? If the item was manufactured in NA I was under the impression that duty wasn't charged under NAFTA. I didn't have to pay duty when I brought my entire ski across the border, yet I do on an exhaust pipe built in North America.

I'm pretty sure the brokerage fee has nothing to do with duty. They are charging you for their services to get the package across the border.

Anyway, sorry for the thread jack. I'll take my complaints to UPS.

Got my pipe in today.. looks magical. UPS charged me $66 on top of tax for being my private broker, nice of them.

Anyway, if your shipping a pipe from factory to canada and they send it UPS.. your looking at a ~$66 brokerage fee.

Now, time to install this bastard.
